Just days after SpaceX’s historic IPO, SpaceX has agreed to acquire AI coding startup Cursor in a $60 billion stock deal. The deal is meant to help SpaceX’s AI division (built on SpaceX’s xAI merger earlier this year) catch up to the major AI labs. The acquisition is likely to close in Q3 of this year.

Chinese AI lab Z AI just released GLM-5.2, a new open-weights model that is competitive with GPT 5.5 and Claude Opus 4.8 across a series of coding benchmarks, marking the closest an open model has come to the top closed systems. 5.2 gains a 1M token context window with strong long-horizon task capabilities, along with two effort modes (High, Max) for tougher jobs.

🤖 Microsoft eyes Chinese AI for Copilot

Microsoft is testing DeepSeek V4 as Copilot’s cheaper engine. Copilot Cowork is shifting to token-based pricing, the same pay-per-use billing Codex and Claude Code already use. Microsoft is trialing a fine-tuned DeepSeek V4, an open-source Chinese model, on Azure to undercut its costly OpenAI and Anthropic models.

🎧 Apple Plans Camera AirPods Alongside Upgraded Foldable iPhone in 2027

Apple’s camera-equipped AirPods are scheduled to launch in late 2027. The device will be released around the same time as the foldable iPhone and a 20th anniversary iPhone model. All three products have reached advanced stages of development. Apple intends the release to be its biggest wave of new products yet.

🏭 Families fight Musk’s AI over TOXIC air

xAI has been running unpermitted methane turbines in Southaven Mississippi to power its $20 billion Colossus 2 data center across the line in Memphis. The fleet can push out 495 megawatts and releases formaldehyde and smog near homes schools and churches. The Justice Department stepped in late Monday to dismiss the case saying enforcement of federal law belongs to the government and not to private groups.

“Use the skill-creator to build a skill from the uploaded PDF. Activate when I ask Claude to [exact task]. Core steps: [paste]. Rules: [paste]. Mistakes to avoid: [paste]. Questions used: [paste]. Success looks like: [paste]. Do not use for: [2–3 unrelated tasks]. Ask me anything missing before generating the SKILL.md, then score the skill out of 10.”

Test the skill with different prompts, unrelated requests, and incomplete inputs to ensure it activates correctly and asks for clarification when needed.
